Used to be a real big fan when I was first getting into music in general. I still have a soft-spot for Ascendancy and Shogun.
Heafy has a really good singing voice, but his screams are way too overdone. If he did the screaming and "thrash" vocals a lot less and stuck with his singing, Trivium would be a lot better. I'm not saying this because I dislike harsh vocals or screaming, he just tries too hard.
Torn Between Scylla And Charybdis and Like Light To the Flies are my favorites of their songs. Unlike most like myself, I actually do still like Trivium from time to time.
